Best known for the "Dear Doug" and the "Adult Conversation," Doug Banks Show radio host, Doug Banks passed away Monday, April 11, from kidney failure. He was 57 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, Doug Banks began his radio career while he was in high school, and later became a radio host for WBMX Chicago, which later became V103 Chicago. After he began his show on the radio station, the ratings skyrocketed giving him the platform he needed to nationally broadcast his own radio show.
The Doug Banks Radio Show became an instant hit and later became something people could not leave their car unless they finished hearing, "Dede's 5 things" at the top of every hour. Many notable celebrities have had the opportunity to be interviewed on The Doug Banks Radio Show including but not limited to Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, and Roland Martin.
Doug Banks also made a guest appearance on My Wife and Kids where he played Michael's friend Tom who was killed in a tragic car accident (off camera). He was also willing to speak on important issues on his radio show, which at some times would cause controversy to some people that did not understand the overall goal of his radio show.
Many celebrities from the music industry to the movie industry have expressed their deepest condolences to the family of Doug Banks where he made an impact on every person with whom he came in contact.
