Best known for the "Dear Doug" and the "Adult Conversation," Doug Banks Show radio host, Doug Banks passed away Monday, April 11, from kidney failure. He was 57 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Doug Banks began his radio career while he was in high school, and later became a radio host for WBMX Chicago, which later became V103 Chicago. The Doug Banks Radio Show became an instant hit and later became something people could not leave their car unless they finished hearing, "Dede's 5 things" at the top of every hour. Many notable celebrities have had the opportunity to be interviewed on The Doug Banks Radio Show including but not limited to Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, and Roland Martin.

Doug Banks also made a guest appearance on My Wife and Kids where he played Michael's friend Tom who was killed in a tragic car accident (off camera). He was also willing to speak on important issues on his radio show, which at some times would cause controversy to some people that did not understand the overall goal of his radio show.

Many celebrities from the music industry to the movie industry have expressed their deepest condolences to the family of Doug Banks where he made an impact on every person with whom he came in contact.

Doug Banks has two children, Kelli and Kennede Banks.

Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
