So I'm a Resident Assistant and I love finding ways to help other people out! Here is a list that I just gave my residents to help them destress!

1. Plan out all upcoming events, including tests and papers – aka 10 minutes of “Worry Time"

2. Take a quick, 20 minute nap – your body will thank you later!

3. Pet a dog or a cat!

4. Say something nice to someone that you may have never talked to.

5. Believe in yourself and remember the end all goal that you want to reach.

6. Strive for excellence, not perfection - because nobody’s perfect!

7. Throw a paper airplane, but don’t throw it at anyone, unless you're passing a note.

8. Fit in a quick workout, it only takes 5 minutes to get to the gym!

9. Cook a meal for not just yourself, but everyone else.

10. Smile whenever you can.

11. Go to a sports game!

12. Get enough sleep!

13. Try a new thing!

14. Vent to someone, they can even be your RA!

15. Eat ice cream – aka treat yo’self!

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
