Quotes serve as a main source of motivation to change, improve, and take control of your own life. Let this be your sign to change the way you live. Starting... now!

1. "Old ways won't open new doors." - unknown

Change = Results. If you're not improving, your old way isn't working! Add something in, take something out, change something around. Whatever it is, switch it up.

2. "Be a voice, not an echo." - unknown

You're you for a reason. As individuals, it's important to remember that we were designed to be different. This applies to your style, opinions, values, interests, anything! Do not hesitate to be different. A pressure is lifted off of your shoulders once you allow yourself to be seen as who you are. I learned this from my own experience.

3. "Fear does not stop death, it stops life." -Vi Keeland

That inkling of a dream that wanders around in the back of your head... it means something! Do what your heart tells you to do and do not let fear get in the way of that.

4. "One day or day one, you decide." - Paulo Coelho

Yes, it's fun to dream, but it's thrilling to make that dream a reality. The only stepping stone between a dream and reality is putting in the work. The sooner you start that work, the sooner you will reach that goal. Make "day one" today.

5. "Let all that you do be done in love." - 1 Corinthians 16:14

Simple. Be kind.

6. "The best view comes from the hardest climb." -unknown

Cheesy, cliche, yes I know. However, this quote is both true and motivating. Living a life atypical to those around you requires you to do what it is they are not doing. Those extra steps you take are what gives you the grand view at the top of the mountain only few see in a lifetime.

7. "Your speed doesn't matter. Forward is forward." -unknown

It's rather easy to get down on ourselves when we see others excelling at a faster rate than us. However, each and every person grows at a different rate. As long as you are moving forward, you are improving! Improve a little everyday, and you will get to where you want to be.

8. "Run the mile you are in." -unknown

When it comes to changing our lifestyles, it can be quite overwhelming. Habits die hard and big goals can seem unfathomable. Whatever you wish to improve, it is important to make smaller goals that will lead you to reach bigger goals. Focus on the task at hand, and before you know it, you'll be on your finishing mile.

9. "Train your mind to see the good in everything." -unknown

With positive thinking comes an abundance of gratitude. Appreciate what is around you--the good AND the bad-- and the things that happen to you will change for the better.

10. "The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience." - Eleanor Roosevelt

The quote speaks for itself. Live life to its fullest.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
