Mistakes don't define you.

Mistakes are inevitable. Not one single person can go through life without making one. Some are larger than others and some are practically meaningless. Some people make more mistakes than others but in the scheme of things that doesn't really matter. I make mistakes, you make mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. Mistakes are a common part of life, and it is important not to let yourself get too caught up on them.

It is not uncommon for people to dwell on the past and their mistakes, which is not the healthiest thing to do. It is okay to make mistakes, but you shouldn't worry about them. Mistakes do not define you and there are much more important things to think about.

Use every mistake as a learning experience. Do not regret it. Use it to grow and move forward. There is much more value in using a mistake to your advantage than to let it get you down. You are bigger and better than that mistake, and you shouldn't let it control you.

Stay positive, work hard, make it happen.

Anything can happen if you stay positive. A positive mood is a game changer. If you remain positive and try your best, anything can happen. If you think negatively, your actions will be negative and you will not get what you want done.

Hard work will always pay off in the end, it may suck at the time but when you look back after it will all be worth it. It may suck while you are doing it, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing how hard you have worked and all of the things that you have accomplished.

With these two things you can make anything happen. Work until your past the point of tired and work until you are proud. At some point you might feel stuck or hopeless, but it is important to keep pushing forward and stay positive.

Everyday may not be good, but there is good in everyday.

As mentioned above always stay positive. You may be having the worse day of your life, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything good about it. Focus on the little things that make you happy and don't let the negative energy touch you. If you are having a bad day, just remember that it could be worse.

Days will only be bad if you let them. Choose something to look forward to. Take a step back relax and focus on something good that has happened. Reflect on why you are having a bad day and try to change that, it may be easier than you think.

The only person that can decide what is going to happen is you. Don't let the world around you dull your sparkle. It is your choice to see the good in every day, and always remember that there are too many good things out there to be happy about, even if you don't immediately recognize them.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever.
