In today's world, there are a lot of movements happening. Whether they be political, religious, social, or other, there is one movement that I think needs more attention: Body Positivity. Most people would associate this movement with women only, but I believe that this is a movement for everyone.
Below, I've compiled some quotes that will help inspire you to love your body the way that is.
1.
This is a quote that I think everyone, no matter the gender, should remember. Whether you have a large waist, slim waste, or are somewhere in between, it doesn't change your personality. Who you are, as a person, says more about you than your size does.
2.
If you feel the need to change your appearance based on someone else's opinion, then you need to keep this quote in mind. There is absolutely no way you can please everybody. Whether you're "too slim" and "need some meat on your bones" or you are "too big" and need to "slim down", just remember that you are beautiful the way that you are. Your role in this life is not to cater to what makes other people happy. They are not entitled to your free will. You don't owe them anything and you shouldn't change yourself to please them.

One positive thought will lead to a positive way of thinking. This is important when you are trying to learn to accept and love yourself. Try this as a mental exercise: every morning, when you first wake up, go stand in front of your mirror and give yourself three compliments on what you see. No negatives, just positives. In the afternoon, after you've been at work or school, whether you look good or a little worn out, give yourself another three compliments. Finally, in the evening, look at yourself in the mirror again. Whether you look good or a little worn out from the day, give yourself another three compliments before you go to bed. Then when you get up in the morning, repeat the process all over again.
Whatever you believe, good or bad, is true. So try to do this exercise to make sure that whatever you used to believe, is replaced with something good. If you don't want to practice this, then practice this mantra: you are enough, you are so enough, it is unbelievable how enough you are!

This is something else to keep in mind. Body positivity is not just for women. It's for everyone. Women deserve to feel comfortable and empowered in the own skin, of course, but so do men. If you think men don't get pressured about their physical appearance and how their body looks, then you are quite mistaken. Even though the media judges women more harshly on appearance, men feel the sting of it too. It's about time we end body shaming and just accept ourselves and our bodies as they are. Until we die, we all only have one body. We should learn to get comfy in it.

To wrap up this article, I urge anyone who's read this far to take this pledge. There's enough hate in this world without us adding our hate for our bodies and ourselves to it. Society benefits from our insecurities so I say it's high time we revolt. Loving ourselves and our bodies is the best way to show society who's boss. We don't need society's beauty standards. We don't have to be fair skinned, blonde, blue-eyed, or skinny to be beautiful. Beauty has no age, race, or shape. Beauty is not skin-deep, it is so much deeper and we should bring it out. We all have flaws, but we are all gorgeous on the inside because of it. That gorgeousness, that beauty that we feel in our souls deserves a chance to be seen on the outside. Through our smiles, our laughter, and most importantly, through the kindness that we show others, is the best way to achieve this. If you want to take this pledge but don't want to do it alone, no worries! Because I'm taking it too. Let's show the world, and everyone in it, how beautiful they are and how beautiful we are, as we are, together.
