It's a funny squeaky sound...

Christmas Vacation is one of the best Christmas movies out there still, and it's because of how hilariously accurate it is. The holidays rarely run smoothly for any family and the Griswold's are a perfect example of a dysfunctional family at the holidays. Here are some of their most quotable moments!

1. "We're all in misery."

Like I said, Christmas can be stressful. We all have to admit that even during the happiest time of year we can get burnt out and lose the meaning of Christmas in all of the hustle.

2. "If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now."

The shock of that one relative showing up that you really weren't expecting to see this holiday season really is one of the most shocking things.

3. "You serious, Clark?"

Eddie says this right after Clark tells the kids that Santa has been spotted. If you haven't said this to your friends or family in response to something completely unrelated to Christmas Vacation, you haven't watched this movie enough.

4. "Worse? How could things get any worse? Take a look around here, Ellen! We're at the threshold of hell! "

The holiday season can often get a bit intense and no one knows that better than the Griswold's.

5. "That's the gift that keeps on giving ."

Whether it's the jelly of the month club or anything else, this is one of my family's favorite quotes.

6. "My tree."

Another family favorite, the tree is rarely referred to unless it's said in the same painful, shocked, shriek that Clark says this in after his tree has been burnt to a crisp.

7. "And why is the carpet all wet, Todd?"

"I don't know, Margo!"

Tones of voices are half the humor for this movie.

8. "Lotta sap in here! Looks great! Little full, lotta sap. "

This is probably one of those you really have to see the scene played out to find it funny. But it still makes for funny references later!

9. "Where's the Tylenol?"

Because it's not Christmas unless someone's giving everyone a headache.

10. "The little lights...they aren't twinkling."

"I know, Art. Thanks for noticing."

Because there's nothing like accomplishing something and having someone immediately point out what's wrong with it.

11. "Save the neck for me, Clark!"

Because we all know an Eddie!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
