I'm so glad I had to learn Korean to be able to cook with my Granny or yell at her to stop yelling at me when I wanted to watch TV and not do homework. This clip continues from where we left off last week. Notice Granny Suh's lipstick?
But seriously, English is a funny thing in immigrant families. Some subscribe to the English-only policy that's tied to their level of "American-ness." Or just everyday life happens among your English-speaking friends at school or wherever, and then you find yourself unable to talk with your grandparents -- or you know, a whole culture of people.
