When we think about our favorite Bible verse, we take into consideration which verse has been hanging up on a sign in your house since we were little or the verse that we found as inspiration during that rough patch in our life. Although your favorite Bible verse may be absolutely wonderful and full of great advice, I encourage you to look more into the Bible verse that may possibly be the best one ever.

Romans 8:31-39 reads “31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died- more than that, who was raised- who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger or sword? 36As it is written, “For your sake, we are being killed all day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
This verse is the best for multiple reasons. Not only does it express to us how much love God has for us, but it reminds us that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for us and God’s grace will continue to save us. Absolutely nothing is going to change that.
As you are on your walk with Christ, it is important to understand how much God loves us (or try to) in order to have a great relationship with him. When God says he loves us, it isn’t like your immature middle school relationship love or like the way you love your dog, (well… maybe) but a much bigger and more fulfilling love. As humans, it is nice to hear how much we are loved, but it is even better when you give us proof. It reads in 32-34, God gave his only son for us. Jesus Christ was given up for US. As if that wasn’t enough proof for us to get how much he loves us, verses 35 and 38 list things that still we will not separate us from his love. His love for us in unbreakable. So that’s it, God will forever be our valentine.
So the next time you’re reading favorite Bible verse or looking at that sign in your dining room with Philippines 4:13 on it, also remember this: God loves me unconditionally and no bible verse says it better than Romans 31-39. That’s why it is quite possibly the greatest Bible verse ever.
