10 Times I Wanted To Quit Study Abroad
Nour Elshazly

While there are some unglamorous things that can happen to you while abroad, there are oftentimes things that happen which make you want to quit your program entirely. I've had a few of these close calls my first semester if we're being honest. This semester, I've started to get into the swing of things and make the best of the good days I do have. But, reality isn't perfect.

When I got locked out of my apartment and paid a locksmith $380 to let me in

When I went to Italy and found out there was lice in the apartment I was in

Giphy

When I thought I was going to miss my flight back to London when the shuttle got delayed

Giphy

When something new seemed to break in my apartment every day

Giphy

When you've been on a constant cycle of catching an infection because of people congestion

Giphy

Everytime I notice more rats scurrying along the subway platform

Giphy

The amount of times my bus would randomly stop and tell everyone to get off in the freezing pouring rain

Giphy

When our heating stopped working during the coldest weekend in London

Giphy

When my landlord refuses to acknowledge/take care of issues in the apartment

Giphy

Every time I end up stuck on a delayed tube

Giphy

At the end of the day I know these experiences will help shape me for the better and they all serve as lessons learned. Here's to a better second semester.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

Old school ghetto blaster sat on the floor
8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
