Embrace And Love Your Quirkiness

We're all weird to somebody. Why not embrace it?

Have you ever felt there was something about you that you kept on the back burner until you met someone who shared your "weird" trait? Maybe it's a certain thing you like to eat that other people may find strange. Possibly a certain type of show you like that's considered a "baby show for babies".

I feel like many of us have at least one thing that no one sees until we are comfortable with presenting it to the world. Many times, it seems that we are never okay with sharing that weird thing until we find people that bring it out in us.

All I can say is, I hope you find those people sooner than later! It is relieving and exciting to just talk about your quirks and guilty pleasures. Why try to hide them?

For me, I have always had a deep love and interest in the future, but more specifically, space travel. I have always been able to express this idea, but it was never like I could have full conversations with people about it. That is until I moved in with my new roommates.

Somehow, one day the conversation transitioned to problems in the environment and, after a while, I asked, "What are your thoughts on space travel?" That's where it all started. I could finally completely express my feelings for my ideas on this topic!

It was actually ironic to me how I just moved into this new space with new people who were foreign to me, and I was able to get to know them quickly. At first, I was quite skeptical because they are really different than any other group of guys I've ever met. I would converse with them here and there, but it was nothing like it is now.

Now, I make it a point to go and hang with them because they are pretty cool to be around.

Along with my love for space and the future, my roommates have started to spark my interest in the popular genre/style of anime. I never realized how intricate the storylines were. That being said, I did enjoy watching "Avatar: The Last Airbender" when I was younger. For some strange reason, I didn't know that it was considered or at least inspired by anime.

When I first moved in and they would reference anime, I would sit there in amazement. It was like they were speaking in a completely different language. After hearing them talk about it forever, I would start to inquire about what was happening in the shows. After that, I decided I was going to try it out.

The first episode I ever saw was from a show called "Inuyasha". Let me tell you, I still have no idea what is happening in that show, I have only seen the first three episodes, though. I have started watching the popular anime "Naruto", and I am liking it so far. I see how it has some similar themes to "Avatar".

Now that I'm getting into it, I can understand what they're saying. I find it hilarious when I converse with them about this because, like a month ago, I had no clue what was happening. I will continue trying to understand this because it is actually fascinating. I am interested to see where this new journey takes me!

Be open to your quirks and sharing them with people. Who knows, maybe you'll find someone who feels the same way!

What's your quirk?

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
