Have you ever watched the sunrise? If not I encourage you to wake up early tomorrow, and take a while to just sit and see how amazing God's creation is.
We have an opportunity every morning to watch the sunrise, but why don't we? Maybe we need more sleep, or we aren't a "morning person". My point is a sunrise is such a beautiful way to start your day.It could give you a whole new outlook for your day, but we rarely take the time to make it happen.
My question is, are we doing the same thing in our quiet time with God?Do we put Him off until we have time for Him? Do we forget to spend time with Him every now and then?
The answer is yes. We are human, of course we fall short, but falling short with God leads to falling short in life. God has blessed us each with amazing people, chances, and a plan. All of His time goes to us, why is our time so selfishly wasted? We usually put quiet time off and say "I'll do that later" ,but God didn't put off dying on the cross. He went willingly. He also didn't hesitate to wake you up this morning. He is constantly thinking of us, but are we always thinking of him?
I challenge you to start a daily devotion, don't just read an app, invest in your quiet time. Set aside a designated time for just you and the Lord. Start with a prayer.Thank God for all your blessings and talk to him about your struggles. The point of prayer is to talk to God, we can tell him absolutely anything. This time with Him should also be spent reading God's word. We can learn so much from the bible and it is important to be in the word.I guarantee if you keep this up within a week you will be happier, and will have a better outlook on life.Something to remember as you start this journey is that a relationship works two ways. Don't let God give 200% and you give 25%. God gave you today, give your time to him.
I spoke at the beginning about how beautiful the sunrise is. Time with God can be just as beautiful. So tomorrow when you wake up make a fresh cup of coffee and take in the morning sun with the Lord.
