Lately I've been struggling on what to write about. I've been so busy with my normal daily life that I haven't gotten the chance to adventure. Traveling is my favorite thing to write about so how am I supposed to do that without being able to physically travel?

I continue to tell myself to have an open mind because any good journalist can take a story from scratch and make it into something great. The advantage of being a journalist is that I have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of topics. I can put my input into anything I decide to. I get to spread my own word and let the world know how I feel.

I enjoy hearing about people's lives. What is your background? How did you get where you are? What are you going to do in the future? Every single person is unique in their own way. You will come in contact with people that you never believed you would before. As a journalist, it is my job to take everyone and everything around me and make articles out of it. The beauty of writing is that sometimes you don't know just how insightful something is until you are half way done with your piece of work and realize how much in depth you just went into it.

Every event I attend and every life lesson learned, turns into a story. I can't count the amount of times I've pulled out my phone notes and started typing away about an event I'm supposed to be having fun at. People say to live in the moment and tell me to get off my phone, but I can always relive the moment through my words.

I get the chance to write about things I would normally never converse about. It is my job to write about controversial and uncomfortable subjects. I get to say whatever I want and exercise the right to do that.

I want to bring out people's emotions. I have the chance to make somebody's day, make them laugh, make them cry, or just try to change their perspective on a subject.

I've always enjoyed helping others and there's still a way for me to do that with being a journalist. Instead of gossiping or keeping things to myself, my problems can turn into stories. These can help benefit others in the same situation as well.

Journalism has to do with networking and making a name for yourself. It is a competitive industry, which intrigues me more. Be friendly, meet new people, and branch out of your comfort zone.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
