If you love to bake, then the holidays are probably your favorite time of year. Every year, I pick a few different recipes to make for holiday occasions, and they've never failed to be a hit with friends and family. However, between finishing up the semester with finals, buying/wrapping Christmas gifts, holiday parties, and working, it's hard to cut out a big chunk of time for yummy treats. Here are the yummiest and least time-consuming recipes that I've made in the past or plan to make in the future.
1. Cinnamon Monkey Bread
Seriously, could you really ever go wrong with monkey bread? It's perfect year round, and acts especially as comfort food during the holidays. I used this recipe last year for Christmas, and it was quick, easy, and delicious. The entire process takes about 35 minutes before it's ready to eat. Find it here.
2. Almond Melt-Away Cookies
I made these last year, too, and they were unbelievable. They really do melt in your mouth like the title claims. Finding such a delicious recipe and putting very little work into it seemed almost wrong. The result was nearly too good to be true, and everyone loved them. Find them here.
3. Peppermint Sugar Cookies
While you have to be a fan of peppermint in general to like these, these are just as good as the almond melt-aways. If you like the idea of melty, warm, sugary-peppermint, you'll die for these. These don't require too much time, but they do require a quick run to the store for ingredients and some patience for all that mixing. Regardless, they are still easy to make and a ton of fun to eat. Find them here.
4. Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
These things should be illegal. So simple, yet so good. They are indulgent, addicting, easy to make, and a major hit for chocolate/peanut butter lovers everywhere. Next time you can't think of something to make for your family occasion, bring up this recipe and get to work. It requires no baking, which is great for people who like to multitask around the house as their dessert is being made. It serves about 55 people, which is more than enough, and I guarantee they'll go quick! Find it here.
