Quick Christmas Treats For The Office Potluck

Uh oh. You just remembered that your work Christmas party is tonight and you are supposed to bring a treat to share. You have no time and limited funds, but still want to make something that everyone will love. Lucky for you, I did the research in advance and here are the 10 best Quick Christmas Treats I found.

1. Chocolate Dipped Oreos

This is ridiculously easy. You just have to take a package of oreos (my personal favorite are the thin, mint oreos) and dip them in melted chocolate. We tried both white and milk chocolate and the white chocolate dipped oreos were by far the favorite. Finish them by adding some holiday sprinkles and stick them in the fridge to harden the chocolate.

2. Candy Cane Popcorn

Pop a bag of popcorn and pour some melted white chocolate over the top. Next add candy cane crumbles. Mix it together and you have a sweet and salty treat to share.

3. Christmas Light Chocolate Bark

White chocolate is a Christmas staple. Melt the chocolate and pour it out on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Make sure it is spread evenly on the sheet and then let cool in the fridge. Pipe green chocolate melts onto the white chocolate surface to look like the string. Cut green Mike and Ikes in half to make the top of the Christmas light and stick it to the top of a peanut M&M. You can use the leftover green chocolate to make then stick together. Next, stick the light to the white chocolate using the green chocolate melts. Super cute treat to wow all your coworkers!

4. Pretzel M&M Hugs

Set kisses on top of a pretzel and put them in the oven for about four minutes at 200 degrees. When you take them out, push red and green M&Ms into the top before they cool. These treats are bite size and easy to grab and go.

5. Reindeer Brownies

Make brownies from the package and add pretzel antlers. Use mint chocolate chips for the eyes and nose and use melted chocolate as the glue and eyeballs. Almost too cute to eat!

6. Strawberry Santa

Cut the strawberries in half and pipe in vanilla frosting, either homemade or store bought. Add a little bit to the top for a pom pom and use black gel frosting for the eyes. No one is too old for a little Santa themed treat!

7. Chocolate Almond Caramel Clusters

Melt caramel squares over the stove. Place clusters of about 7-10 almonds together on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Use a spoon or a cookie scoop to put caramel on each cluster and stick in the oven to cool. Melt milk chocolate and dip the caramel almond clusters in the chocolate. Allow to cool once more and they are ready to share!

8. Rice Krispie Trees

Make up a batch of Rice Krispie treats but adding green food coloring. As the treats cool, shape them into little christmas trees. Decorate with white frosting and colorful candies. Everyone gets their own little Christmas tree!

9. Chocolate Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers

Press two Ritz crackers together with peanut butter in the middle. Dip in milk chocolate and decorate with Christmas sprinkles. Allow to cool for around 15 minutes. These are easy to create and quite delicious!

10. Peppermint Fluff Dip

All this takes is a container of marshmallow fluff, 8 oz. of cream cheese, 1 tsp of peppermint oil, and crushed peppermints. Combine it all together and bring graham crackers for a dessert thats a little different, but still incredibly tasty.

With any of these treats you can spend little money and time, but still be a hit at any Christmas party during the season. Good luck!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
