For the lazy and in-a-rush college student

5 Quick and Easy Breakfasts

As a college student I'm constantly struggling between eating healthy and eating fast. I've never been a morning person and getting out the door on time is not my strong suit. In my haste to make it to class on time, I often forget the breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you're full before you head to class you will be more alert, more receptive to information, and less likely to snack before lunch. In fact, protein in the morning can actually help you lose weight.

So, here are 5 quick and easy breakfasts that are actually good for you.

Avocado on Toast

Find a thick, hearty, chewy bread with lots of seeds and grains (my favorite is Trader Joe's Six Grain), lightly toast it and top it with about a quarter of a ripe avocado. Add salt and pepper and a dash of cayenne and you'll have a breakfast high in vitamins, protein and healthy fats. If you're feeling particularly ambitious add a fried egg on top, or melt some cheese.

Yogurt and Granola

This one is particularly easy if you don't even want to leave your room. Buy any kind of single serving yogurt (though I prefer Greek) and either granola or granola cereal. All you have to do is mix the two together and add any fruit of your choice and you're ready to eat. It's great if you're in a rush or super lazy, and it tastes delicious

Eggs

Eggs are great. They are filled with protein, iron, Vitamin A, B12, B2 and more. They are also relatively low-calorie and very filling. It takes probably 10 minutes to cook them from start to finish, and paired with a slice of whole grain toast, they can hold you over until lunchtime.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a totally underrated breakfast food, and with the invention of instant oatmeal there is no excuse not to eat it. If you have a coffee maker you can boil water by running it through your machine, without the grinds, and you'll have oatmeal in 3 minutes or less. Add berries or fruit (raspberries and blueberries are my favorite) and walnuts or almonds if you have them. Oats are high in fiber and potassium, and nuts are very high in protein.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit isn't as filling as other options, but it is healthy and delicious. If you are planning an early lunch of have packed snacks for the day, grapefruits are packed with Vitamin C, great for your skin, and studies have shown that they assist in weight loss when combined with a reasonable diet. Top it off with a little bit of honey and you have a sweet start to your day.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and there is no excuse for skipping. Breakfast aids in regulating blood sugar and weight, helps you focus throughout the day, and can even increase short term memory. So take a few minutes in the morning and make sure you start your day right.

You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

In the 12 years since it went off the air, "Friends" continues to be adored by millions. 11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
