21 Questions I Have For Carrollton, Georgia
Lindsey Wilson

Carrollton, Georgia is a beautiful and growing mini-metropolis a couple of miles east of Alabama and far enough away from Atlanta to be considered "in the country." I've lived in and around Carrollton my entire life, and in being in the area for so long, I have some questions I'd like for the city, it's business owners and fellow citizens to answer:

1. Why on Earth does our Snapchat geofilter call us "The City of Dreams?"

2. When will the Croft Street bridge finally open back up?

3. Does everyone "stick" their finger in the nose of the Susan Hayward mural when taking a picture with it?

4. Do Central High School Students eat Chick-Fil-A every day?

5. Do the previously mentioned students own stock in Chick-Fil-A?

6. Speaking of Chick-Fil-A, do we all agree that we have the best Chick-Fil-A in the nation? Because I am pretty positive we do.

7. When will David Daniels be awarded for being the best leader and business owner in Carrollton? The man behind the best Chick-Fil-A deserves to be rewarded.

8. Why do people forget how to drive the moment they get to Adamson Square?

9. Why are the parking decks the #1 place for couples to make out? I guess there's nothing more romantic than disgusted looks and possible security camera footage.

10. Where do the hipsters inside Corner Cafe and The Vinyl Frontier go once they leave? I've never seen them exist outside of those two local favorites.

11. Why does Gallery Row close relatively early to be such a well-known college student hangout?

12. Who was blessed with the beautiful idea to bring the Gallery Row Coffee Bar to UWG?

13. Why do we have so many McDonald's restaurants? There's four... FOUR.

14. Why did the Mellow Mushroom have to close down?

15. Why is the animal shelter in the middle of nowhere? If you want pups and kittens to be adopted, situating the animal shelter in a more accessible location might help a little.

16. Even after improving the roads, why is Martha Berry Highway always backed up?

17. Why does Vogelsberg's always look closed?

18. Why is UWG's football stadium a mile from campus?

19. Why is the speed limit on the majority of the Carrollton bypass so painfully low?

20. Why do people still not know how to use the roundabout on Newnan Road? If I see one more person drive on the sidewalk, I am going to flip out.

21. Whose idea was it to put Midtown Waterpark in the middle of a cemetery? I guess nothing says "summer fun" like the potential for possession!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.
