There is no question that sorority life is completely different in the North and South. To Northern sorority girls, the South is the land of pearls and gentlemen, and we have nothing more than southern stereotypes to rely on. So please, Southern girls, give us the answers we need (preferably without popping the idea of the perfect pink bubble we think you live in).
Are you all engaged?
If so, how exactly does this work? Are boys there actually gentleman, who want commitment? Can you come to the North and do seminars on this topic?
What actually happens at a tailgate?
And why do you all dress up, is that a requirement? Do you actually have school spirit? Can you explain the concept of school spirit?
How do you accumulate so much Lilly?
Is it passed down through your families? Do you get a Lilly dress at college orientation? Were you as disappointed as we were at the Target Lillygate fiasco?
Is Southern recruitment really as intense as they say?
Do you really need a recommendation from Hilary Clinton or Leigh Anne Touhy? How do you manage spring rush before you're even in college?
How do you manage to look good in oversized T-shirts?
Why don't you look like a seven-year-old boy? How can we bring this trend to the north? How do you possibly make it look so classy?
Why are your houses so gigantically awesome?
What is it like to live in a mansion that size with that many girls? How do they not get trashed? Are house moms as awesome as they sound?
Sincerely,
Your Sisters From the North
