The Annoying Questions Our Parents Ask During Summer Vacation

Being home for the summer is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, we have home-cooked meals to enjoy. On the other hand, we are constantly bombarded with questions about our lives and the future. Don't get me wrong, I love being home for the summer, but telling my parents where I'm going and what I'm doing at all times of the day can get a little annoying. Here are all the inevitable questions that our parents will ask us this summer.

How was your semester?

What's your GPA?

What are your plans this summer?

Are you getting a job?

What are your plans after graduation?

Have you thought about next year?

Are you listening to me?

Did you just roll your eyes at me?

Will you please do the dishes?

Why do you take so many selfies?

Can you get off your phone for five minutes?

Where are you going?

Who are you going with?

Do you need a ride?

Are you drunk?

Why are you asking me for money?

What happened to your paycheck?

Can I come to the bar with you guys?

Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend yet?

Do you want me to set you up?

Are you really eating that?

Can you turn the music down?

What's so special about Netflix?

When are you going back to school?

Did you hang up on me?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
