Fun get to know you questions are always used during interviews, when networking, or even just when meeting new people and getting to know them! I have always felt that these types of questions allow you to learn more about different people in a new and unusual format and often you can find similarities between yourselves to bond over! Here are some of my favorite ones!

1. You are a professional athlete, what is your walkup/entrance song?

If I were a professional athlete, my entrance song would be "All I do is win" by DJ Khaled. I would want this as my entrance song because it is the perfect song to get hype and excited to, it makes you feel good, gives you energy, and just pumps you up. As a professional athlete, this song would be perfect to listen to before a competition or game, to get the blood flowing! I actually listen to this song before a big event or big test in my life to help shake off nerves, and get me excited for what is ahead.

2. Sword, lightsaber, or wand? Defend your answer.

As a die-hard Harry Potter enthusiast, I would have to choose a wand. This would be because it can serve so many purposes to help you out. With a wand, you can perform a range of spells that can help you with simple tasks all the way to defending yourself against the Dark Lord, if you were to ever find yourself in that situation. Compared to a sword or lightsaber, wands are the most efficient for transportation and the easiest to keep on your body while being inconspicuous. It is small enough to just fit in your pocket or bag without taking up too much space like a sword would and is slim enough to hide compared to the base of a lightsaber which is quite thick. Wands are also unique to each individual, which makes it more fun to have something with you that was made just for you.

3. What television character do you most embody and why?

I believe that I most embody Kelly Kapoor from the TV show, The Office. I would say that we share a lot of traits in common, such as we are both outgoing, social, caring, enjoy social media, but are also hardworking and get the job done. During the show, Kelly kept things fun around the office with her great sense of humor, and I like to think that I am the same way. I am hard working and passionate about what I do, but I also know that you have to enjoy the journey and make the most of it, and that is what I believe Kelly did while at Dunder Mifflin. Also, she was one of the few characters that looked like me and showed me that as a young Indian American girl, I can achieve whatever I want to, and be successful no matter what anyone told me.

4. If you could invite three famous people to dinner who would you invite and why?

I would invite Barack Obama, Ellen Degeneres, and Beyonce to dinner. I chose each of them because they are people who I look up to, who have made the world a better place, and who have worked hard to inspire a new generation of caring individuals. They have done so much to give to the world and having dinner with them would be an honor. They all represent a diverse group of people whose job is not quite identical to the other but have all worked for the same common cause, spreading love and kindness around the world.

These questions help you to uncover a new side of each person that you meet or speak to and truly get to know the deepest, weirdest and quirkiest things about each other!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
