Ever since its release in February, Queer Eye has really blown up as one of the best new TV shows, and for good reason. This reality series is a Netflix-owned reboot of the groundbreaking original 90's show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, but it brings a fresh cast (called the Fab Five) to the stage. For those of you who don't already know, the premise of the show is that the Fab Five, consisting of five gay men each with their own area of expertise, gives a total makeover to a different man (usually straight, but in a couple episodes they have been gay too) each episode. These makeovers are more than just surface-level; they really cover all the bases of the men's lifestyles.

Jonathan teaches better grooming habits and gives game-changing haircuts...

Tan provides a fresh and more stylish wardrobe...

Antony helps with creating a healthier attitude towards food and cooking...

Bobby refurbishes the homes...

and Karamo offers some much-needed life tips and confidence boosts.

Now ain't these boys just the cutest??

The final product is not just a makeover, but a life-changing experience and opportunity for growth that often means much more to the men receiving them than we realize. Therefore, the show is one of the most heartwarming and even sometimes tearjerking things you could ever decide to watch, but that's not all: the Fab Five also offer plenty of laughs and fierce inspiration, not to mention that they're all quite easy on the eyes (Antony is literally a Greek god).

So if you're not sold just yet, I encourage you to read on to discover exactly why I and so many others hold this show near and dear to our hearts and feel that it deserves the highest of praise.

First of all,

This show is so wholesome. In a world that sometimes is filled with too much violence and graphic, darker issues in the media, it is so refreshing to sit back and watch something so feel-good and positive. You walk away from the couch feeling like you can accomplish anything in life, and that everyone deserves the chance to be their best selves.

And yes, all this love and positivity will make you shed a tear or two, particularly in the episodes where the makeover recipient is overcoming personal struggles (the one where the guy's father passed away will straight up DESTROY you). You'll be feeling a lot like Jonathan here when you too are overcome with tears of joy and every other emotion in between.

To be honest, everyone can learn a thing or two from the Fab Five. Tan and Jonathan's style advice may be directed towards the male style, but the lessons each of these men teach about self-confidence, self-love, and bringing out the best version of yourself are entirely universal!

All of the men of the Fab Five are equally lovable and entertaining, but Jonathan is the biggest master of sass and fierce compliments. He's definitely the kind of guy you'd want rooting on your team!

Queer Eye is one of the most inspiring shows, encouraging you to want to see the beauty and value in everyone just as the Fab Five does, which is something everyone should really strive for. Maybe this is a stretch, but I honestly feel that if everyone watched this show, the world could somehow become a better place.

Long live the Fab Five, and can't wait for Season 2!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
