Most of us college students are stressed out 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We are all struggling to maintain good grades while trying to work out, get eight hours of sleep a night, and still have a social life. Not only all that, but we're all still young and trying to figure out who we are as individuals. The combination of it all can be entirely overwhelming which is why I think many of us believe our college years are our quarter life crisis.
The awful question we all think about "But, what do we after college" haunts us everyday when we realize that we have so much of our lives ahead of us. Our four years in the University is a battle between childhood and adulthood. We begin questioning if these really are the "best four years of our lives" because of the stress feeling that never seems to go away. We begin to overthink and loose self confidence when we ponder about little things like that one guy who didn't text back or that C on that exam from last week or all the student loans we will eventually have to pay off.
Unfortunately, this is all part of life and it seems as thought it's not such a good thing now, but in the end it's a growing and learning experience for everyone. We can all learn to deal with it a positive and healthy way, too. We have to just accept it and at times it is difficult, but college is possibly the only time we can get away with certain things which will make great stories for our grandkids one day. It's a reminder that there are still three more quarters of life to live. It's also a part of growing and finding ourselves, the tears can't be fixed with a simple band-aid, but we can learn to smile through the tears.
So, when you're ever feeling down just remember so many people are struggling, but you're not alone. You never are. We all feel the same stress that college brings us and sometimes we think it won't ever end. But, it will. There is so much ahead of us in the upcoming future.
