Qualities of others, qualities that I love.

Qualities I Admire In Others

I think we all look for certain qualities of people when we interact and meet new people. There are many reasons to admire others, but here’s a list of qualities I love to see in people. Whether it be my friends, family or complete strangers these are the qualities these are the qualities that just make me take a step back, and appreciate them.

1. Honesty

I love someone who can just be straight up in any situation. Beating around the bush is something I’m not a fan of. So when someone can just say, “Hey listen...” I really appreciate it. Honest words are the best words. Typically when someone is honest with me, I feel comfortable with them, making for awesome relationships.

2. Kindness

Being kind is always important, and when I see others being kind, my heart melts. Even if it’s just picking up trash on the sidewalk, I love to see people being kind to earth, animals and others.

3. Compassion

I guess this goes along with kindness, but I really admire it. I don't think compassion has to just be limited to compassion to others, passion to the earth and animals is a plus too. That may mean I love tree huggers, but I'm okay with that.

4. Authenticity

Being the best version of yourself and no one else. Being genuine and unique is so admirable. It can sometimes be hard to stay true to yourself in this crazy world, so those that can always be true to themselves are the best.

5. Passion

Seeing someone’s eyes light up talking about something they love is so joyful! Like, please tell me more about how you want to invent something super rad, I love the excitement of it all.

6. Humor

If you don't have the ability to laugh at yourself, I don't think you should have the to laugh at others. So, I laugh the people who walk through life chipper as could be, always laughing to themselves, it's contagious at times.

7. Simplicity

"Keep it simple, stupid" is one of my favorite sayings, and those who have the ability to live this way are so admirable.

I try my best to surround myself with people with these qualities, and if you’re a person that displays them, then just know that I appreciate you. I think almost everyone holds at least one of these qualities, and a very few that display each and every one.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
