In college, you meet new people, experience new things, and most importantly, find your new self.
But how do you do what you love while studying and preparing for your professional career?
It is so easy to fall into things that you don't love because you think it will get you further in your career. Remember when you joined that academic club or went to that boring meeting that brought you no joy but you thought it would look good on your resume.
I'm not saying don't do anything that will give you an "up" in your career however; you must incorporate things you love into your schedule.
This is important for your mental health as well. Without good mental health, you will not be able to achieve your full potential. It is okay to take "mental health days" and to sacrifice something career based to do something you love.
I feel that as students, we forget that.
We focus way too much on what will and won't put us ahead on our careers.
But the truth is, thinking a little bit about ourselves and having a healthy mindset will put you miles ahead those who let preparing for their career engulf their lives, making them anxious, unhappy, and burnt out faster.
So take that mental break.
Join that club you've always wanted to join. Write that book. Audition for that show.
Remember anything you live doing is never a waste of time.
