Why We Should Never Stop Pursuing Our Dreams
Caitlyn Campbell

We all have dreams. There is no doubt in my mind that almost every single person on this planet has at least one or two or even more dreams they wish to aspire during their lifetime.

"The thing about trains...it doesn't matter where they're going. What matters is deciding to get on." This is a quote from "The Polar Express" which greatly relates to achieving our dreams. People are afraid to dream because they are afraid that their dream might be too big or they might not be able to achieve it, but if you never get on the train, you will never know how far you can go.

Dreams are so important to have in a life because without dreams what would we be living for? Yes, we have family and friends that we live for and of course ourselves, but we always want more. Sadly, there is something that holds people back from pursuing their dreams and that is fear. People are afraid to pursue their dreams because they are afraid they are going to fail. People fear pursuing their dreams because they fear the thought of being rejected. People are afraid to fail, be rejected and they are afraid to dream.

I have had so many dreams that I wish I could have achieved, but they are seemed to change after just a few tries of pursuing. The only way to chase your dreams is to have such a strong passion for it. Whether it is becoming a model, becoming a professional athlete, becoming a famous author or even becoming an actor or actress, you have to have passion and you have to have desire. Those who have many dreams they wish to pursue do not have enough desire and strength and I hate to say that, but it is true. To become who you always wanted to be or achieving all the things you have wanted to achieve, you have to have desire, hope, and strength. Not everything is going to be handed out in life. Not everyone is going to understand your dreams or want to help you achieve them, you have to go out on your own and achieve them. No one is going to hold your hand and tell you what to do with your life. If some people have that type of person in their life then they need to get rid of them because it is holding you back from doing what you really want. You have to have hope. You have to hope that one day everything you ever wanted will come true. You have to hope that the world saw that you put everything you had into everything you ever wanted.

You have to have strength to get through all the twists and turns to get to where you want to be. If you put yourself out there and get rejected, you cannot just go back home and give up. You have to be strong and put yourself out there again. Those who see you are strong and are never willing to give up will hire you. They will hire you because you can push through those long days of work, through those hard workouts and through those constant "cuts" and "actions." Strength is what we all need to hold within ourselves in order to survive life.

People are afraid to dream because they are afraid that someone is going to tell them no, or that their dream is too big. No dream is ever to big achieve and that is something that we have to realize. We have to dream and go for what we want in our lives. To dream big is to think big and to think big is to be smart.

For anyone who dreams of a big life for themselves, do not give up. If you get rejected, try again. If you get scared, build up that courage and get out there. If you feel like no one is there to help you, help yourself and those who are willing to help you will come. Don't ever give up on your dreams because one day they will come true.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
