Purse Essentials For Date Night

Excited for date night but not sure what’s worth fitting into that tiny clutch? Or are you carrying a large stylish tote and unsure if you’ve used the space wisely? Packing the perfect purse is a skill every woman should master, as it makes for smoother, less stressful nights out. Check out my list of recommended items below and find out what your date night bag may be missing!

Bare Essentials: No matter what, the first things I pack are my cards, cash, keys and phone.

Touch Up Makeup: This includes concealer, blush, powder, mascara and/or lip products. Sometimes I’ll only grab one or two of these depending what I think will need the most touching up. Try and find travel sizes because makeup can take up a lot of space in clutches. And a pocket mirror attached doesn’t hurt.

Gum, Mints & Wisps: Make sure you pack something to freshen your breath after dinner.

Wardrobe Tape: To keep everything you want tucked in and nothing falling out.

Tylenol & Vitamin C supplements: Throw a few of each into a tiny Ziploc bag so you don’t have to carry whole bottles around. You never know when a headache or sick spell may come on so be prepared. If you plan on staying out all night, make sure to take some vitamin C in the morning to help fight any bugs you may have picked up.

Bandaids: If your heels are known for blistering feet, pack some instant relief.

Condoms:// This one is pretty self-explanatory. Stay safe! Don’t rely on someone else to have condoms at the ready. Take your safety into your own hands and always be prepared.

Comb & Hair Ties: A comb can be hard to fit into a clutch if it’s not foldable. I love having these essentials on hand for touch ups before pictures and in the morning after a sleepover.

Mini Deodorant: If you can fit a mini deodorant into your clutch, then by all means, do it. I always feel better when I know I have one of these on hand. Make sure to grab clear gel, so it doesn’t get on your clothes.

Tampons & Panty Liners: If you’re on your period, then you know these go to the top of the list. However, if you aren’t, still consider packing one. Someone else could need one throughout the night.

Extra Clothes: For everyone planning on shacking, make sure to pack an extra pair of underwear, a comfy sweater and leggings for the morning after. If you’re wearing heels, also pack some flats-to-go or skinny flip-flops so the trip home isn’t painful.

Sunglasses & Hat: If you’re confident you’ll be feeling like a totally bum in the morning, why not pack these items too while you’re at it. The morning sun can be blinding.

Toiletries-To-Go: This suggestion includes travel size lotion, Listerine, eye drops, tissues, moisturizer, Q-tips, cotton balls and makeup remover. Anything you like to use in your own bathroom that it’s readily available elsewhere.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
