It’s that time of year - the time where pumpkin spice comes back into reign, and you can hear the people running into Starbucks across the globe.
It’s also the time where people can get a little over excited about the whole pumpkin spice movement.
So here’s a short list about what to include in your favorite guilty pleasure, and what to leave out.
1. Soap: Do
A little fall flavor is exactly what your bathroom may need (emphasis on the little). Not only will the bar add a little color to your bathroom, but it’ll also fight other scents like a charm - what with it’s powerful, distinct smell and all.
2. Candle: Don’t
Sure, a little fall flavor is exactly what you may need, but a whole lot of it is just too much. It’s nice to feel the crisp fall air, but is it really nice to smell it burning into your nose all day? Personally, I’m going to have to pass on the whole candle faze.
3. Gum: Don’t
Another don’t. There’s already enough pumpkin flavored things, why bring it to gum? No one wants the cool, refreshing taste of pumpkin after shoving an enormous amount of food into their bodies. Leave gum to the mint leaves, pumpkin.
4. Ale: Do
Not that I’m one to hit up the breweries, or even drink, but from word of mouth, I’ve heard the stuff is pretty good. A good fall drink to go with that slice of pumpkin pie you’ve been eyeing - or maybe just a good dessert after a long day.
5. Oreos: Don’t
Let the oreo nation be, people. Oreos are meant to have one flavor, and one flavor only: original (although double stuff stole our hearts with double the original). Pumpkin spice oreos can go back to the pumpkin they came from if you ask me.
6. And finally, the latte: Do
Ask anyone, this seasonal favorite has got people going crazy over it - just look at all the other outlandish pumpkin spice flavors they’ve thrown into everything. However, as crazy as some are, this trend starter is definitely worth the line at Starbucks.
Now that you’re all experts on the pumpkin spice movement, it’s time to get your fall on! Time to break out the sweaters and scarves, and start bundling up.
And remember, if you don’t take a picture of your latte, or you and your latte, it didn’t happen.
Happy Fall!
