If You Don't Have The Survey App, Pulse- You're Missing Out

So, I want to start this article off by saying this is in no way sponsored by Pulse. It's just a fun app I found a few months ago and I wanted to finally share a little more about it. Personally, I spend a ton of time taking random online surveys when I'm bored, so it's fun to have a way to do that while still being productive.

First, I want to explain exactly what Pulse is. It's an app created by Dartmouth meant to gather unfiltered college opinions and then they post fun statistics on the app, their Instagram, and their Facebook account based on what's found by the surveys. As you answer different surveys, you receive a certain amount of points, and if you continue answering them for a certain number of days, you can get extra points.

You then take those points and exchange them for different rewards Pulse offers. There are a huge variety of rewards and having just been on Pulse for a couple months, I could already get some pretty decent rewards, although personally, I'm saving up for some of the larger ones.

Some of these rewards are donations to various charities including Doctors Without Borders, Girls Who Code, Pandas International, and others, and others are things like coupons, having your data personally analyzed by their team to get a personality analysis, and even an iPhone X or $2,500 on Square Cash (those last two items being at the very top of the point range). They also offer items like electric bikes, memberships to various companies or programs, therapy sessions, and even Harry Potter, gaming, and pop culture themed boxes. That being said, Pulse has a reward for almost anyone who's interested in their services.

They're also consistently putting out their own surveys to find out how they can improve and are constantly trying to reach new schools so they can widen their database. Along with putting out professional surveys, a lot of the surveys are based on questions students have. There's an entire section of the app devoted to allowing students to ask their own questions and then having other users vote on whether or not they'd like to answer them in a real survey.

Unlike some other survey apps, Pulse makes earning points pretty easy and after just a couple months (without doing it every single day in all of that time), I have nearly 10,000 points. That's good enough to get a lot of the coupons offered, loot boxes, or any of the donations. They release surveys daily and they make keeping daily streaks easy as long as you have your notifications turned on.

While the rewards are enticing, I also think the data they collect is very interesting. Once they get the results for the surveys, the latest statistics are always posted at the top of the app and there are often things I wouldn't have expected or things that teach me a little more about my school's culture. This is made even more poignant when it allows you to go into different surveys and view the results by various demographics, including just looking at the results of your own school.

If you're interested in Pulse, all you need to have to sign up is a college email. If you use this link, you can get 250 extra points for signing up! Have fun answering surveys and working towards rewards while supporting unfiltered media and opinions!

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
