Its more than just a fun quote.

There are so many fun sayings and quotes you can find today. Simply by getting on Pinterest, you can find hundreds of sayings to fit any event, mood or for a certain person. But with all the resources, thats not where I found my favorite. About six months ago, I was flipping through my bible and stumbled upon this special verse: "Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath." This immediately caught my attention. Not only is it beautifully written, but my God wrote it.

After just reading it over and over, it grew to be more special to me. I interpreted in the sense of if the God of the universe 'bends' down to listen and wants to listen and be part of my life, prayer is the way to respond. With that I really began to pray. This verse just clicked in my head that to talk to God is to pray vigorously.

Not only has this verse helped grow my faith with God, but its so special to me. It is a constant reminder of how important prayer is. Before I knew it was, but i didn't know just how powerful it was. I grew up saying night time prayers, and before every meal. Maybe with these habitual things, I grew desensitized to the beauty of it. Now, its not just a habit or a check off the to-do list, its a must.

With all the other funny or love sayings out there, I'm so grateful for this one. To me, its so much more than a simple verse out of the huge book of Psalms. Its a reminder that God wants to listen to us as his children. That no matter what, he cares. Just that, is huge encouragement. Its a reminder that I am loved, and that I need to grow my relationship with Him. I was so in awe of it when I found it and now, I read so much more of Psalms than I did before.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
