These titles are just some of the most recent articles on TSM's website and Facebook page. Aside from the ridiculous names of these articles...their content is just as absurd. I'm sorry but I am not interested in reading about anyone's sex life, but especially not cheap, meaningless hookups that one slutty sorority girl decided to write about.
Don't get me wrong, all of the things they post are not bad. There are posts about sorority of the week, philanthropy events, and even some inspiration stories of things some sorority women have accomplished. However, as sorority women do we really want to portray ourselves on social media in such a negative way? I'm all for people doing whatever they want to, but do you really need to talk about it all over a page that gets millions of views everyday from more than just people who are already involved with a particular sorority. Not only does this just fulfill the negative stereotypes of "sorority girls" and Greek life as a whole, but it also is shouting from the rooftops to our parents, PNMS, and people who know nothing about Greek life that sex, drugs, money, and alcohol is mostly all we care about. But we all know that simply isn't true.
I find it insulting as a sorority women that we are accepting this as okay and supporting a page that makes us look so unintelligent and dirty. So think next time before you "like" the TSM or TFM page. Although the occasional post might be funny or inspirational, the majority of it highlights all the negative stereotypes of Greek life, why would we want the world to think that those things are the all there is to it?
