PSA: Less Than One Month Until Bobcats Are Back Home
Zach Woods

As I currently type this, it is exactly one month from the first day of syllabus week for Ohio University students, and you know what that means? It’s officially less than one month until everyone will be back in the promise land that is Athens, Ohio. If you weren’t already setting your countdown apps, crossing out the days on your calendar, and beginning to pack… now is the time!

Now that we have OU on the brain, here are some reminders of exactly what is waiting for us when we come back. And if you’re going to be a freshman this fall, then here is exactly what you have to look forward to for the next four years.

If you have to study and exercise, at least you get to be here:

Emeriti Park

The 6thand 7th floor of Alden

College Green

The ARC

Ping

Bong Hill

Strouds

Bike Trail

FOOD:

Dining Halls -- mainly Nelson (free!!!)

Big Mama's

GoodFellas (my mouth is watering...)

Bagel Street Deli (sweet Jesus, it's Heaven)

Miller's Chicken (best chicken you'll ever have!)

USD (heaven's twin sibling)

Whit's

Souvlaki's

O'Betty's

Gran Ran(chero)

Ginger

DP Dough (open all the time!)

COFFEE:

Front Room

Donkey

Court Street

Brennan's

Night Life:

The Union recently re-opened!

The 3 C's C.I., Crystal and Courtside

PAWPURS and Pawpcorn

REDBRICK – brick break!

LUCKY'S – pitchers!

BONUSES for fall:

Welcome Weekend

HallOUween

HOUmcoming

Santa Fest

Amongst all the physical aspects, we are most excited to get back to our friends and all the other Bobcats. The campus is beautiful, and the events are the best, but the vibes when everyone comes hOUme are incomparable.

Excited yet?

Get ready, Athens -- because Bobcat fam is coming home.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Kent State University
Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
