We often hear the phrase "What goes around comes around," and that's certainly true in terms of fashion. We've recently seen the return of many 90s pieces like chokers and high-waisted shorts. Another style item that's making a comeback are Birkenstocks, and I'm here to tell you that they're not ugly.
Near the end of second semester, I found myself wishing I had a pair of sandals that aren't bar shoes and are also made for trekking back and forth from Farmer. My other pairs of sandals had either fallen victim to Gatlinburg formal or the soles just weren't cut out for the strenuous journey across campus. That's when I discovered Birkenstocks.
Splurging on a pair of these sandals was a great decision. The thick sole is perfect for the amount of walking I do during the school year and the adjustable straps make them perfect for anyone.
With all these fantastic benefits, you might be wondering what the problem is. There seems to be a stigma around these shoes. Throw on a pair of socks with them and you'll probably never find love. Some may also consider them "Jesus sandals."
I was recently sporting my Birks and my dear friend kindly told me how ugly my shoes were. Baffled, I decided I needed to tell the world that Birkenstocks aren't ugly!
Heidi Klum, a supermodel, loves her Birks. She keeps this tie dye dress daytime casual by adding a pair of the "Gizeh Birko-Flor" style sandals.
Jessica Alba shows that Birkenstocks are the perfect shoe for running errands and looking chic at the same time.
They're the perfect addition to a flowy summer dress.
All the different styles and colors means that there's a pair of Birks to go with every outfit.
Come on, they're so cute!
