Dear Younger Brother,

The biggest blessing I have been given in my life was the gift of being your older sister. From the moment you were born, you became my best friend.

To say I am proud of you would be an understatement. You never fail to impress me with your talent and maturity. I am amazed by the amount you have accomplished and I am honored to have been a witness of your success.

The hardest thing is watching you grow up, but you are growing into a phenomenal young man. You have the kindest heart and treat everyone with an enormous amount of respect. You are extremely intelligent and driven and I know your future holds so many opportunities for you.

Thank you for making me laugh and smile whenever I'm sad and for being the most supportive little brother in the world. You make every day better than the next and you always keep a smile on my face.

There is nothing I love more than watching you grow in your faith and utilize God's gifts to benefit the well being of others. I beam with pride every time I hear someone say how genuine of a young man you are.

I will forever picture you as my baby brother and in my mind, you will never grow up. But, I know that is not reality, so I pray that God blesses you with the most amazing future.

As much as I want you to find a wonderful girl to steal your heart, I will always be protective. She better not break your heart or she will have to deal with me.

I cannot wait to see all that you accomplish in your life and I will forever be by your side. I will be there for the laughter, tears, heartbreaks and triumphs. Together, brother and sister, it will forever be us against the world. You are my partner in crime and my best friend.

I love you forever,

Your Big Sister

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
