We all look back on pictures and wonder what made us wear certain things, but when all of your friends were doing it, you had to take part too. I remember asking my mom why she let me wear the things I did and she said there was no talking me out of it. Everyone was doing it so I had to too and I didn't care what people thought about it. Now I can confidently say that I wish I would've thought a little harder about what I was wearing. It does make for some pretty comical memories though along with some pretty funny pictures to go with them.
Leg warmers
This 1980's trend seems to keep circling back around. Why on earth I thought I needed to wear something to keep my calves warm is beyond me.
Color tinted sunglasses
I actually still have a pink pair of these that have been sitting in the center console of my car for years now. They only come out in a time of desperate need when the sun is in my eyes or when the dark circles have come out to play.
Low rise jeans
I remember when high rise jeans became a thing and I was so hesitant to try them because everyone also wore low rise. I now thank my high rise jeans for keeping everything nice and tucked in. Low rise jeans were just not it.
Butt writing
We all had a pair of sweatpants or shorts that said something on the butt. Mine usually said Pink! on them. Oh, what a time to be alive.
Shutter shades
These crack me up because I thought I was sooooo cool when I wore these. You couldn't even see out of them, like what?
Silly bandz
If you know, you know! EVERYONE was into silly bands, they were every where at one point and we'd always wear way too many of them at once.
Hair feathers
Hair feathers, wraps, tinsel, you name it. I had so many hair feathers at one point that I couldn't run a brush threw the top of my hair without pulling on the metal clamp that kept them in.
Bermuda shorts
If you're a girl, every mom made you wear those awful plaid shorts that stopped right above your knee. I know had the glorious pink pair.
Colorful skinny jeans
I remember begging my mo for a lime green pair and when she finally bought me them, I wore them maybe twice because I was afraid people would make fun of me.
Chokers
I'm sad to say this trend made it to high school with me. You just can't make a choker look girly and cute. It always gives off punk rocker vibes.
Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister
After the Justice and Limited Too phase, we moved on to these wonderful stores that were extremely cheap quality and ran too small. Fun times.
