Dear Millennials,

There are a lot of great qualities that we possess and Goldman Sachs has a great infographic to show those, but also a lot of qualities that make me ashamed to be a millennial. This recent election has finally made my blood boil enough to talk about it.

Millennials are self-centered, entitled and overly sensitive. A generation of "I can dish it out, but I can't take it." Now I'm going to assume if you quit reading now, I've hit the nail on the head. That statement just offended you, right? Let me explain.

Donald J. Trump is the next president of the United States. I am sorry if you don't agree with his agenda to "Make America Great Again," but that is your opinion and the constitution grants you the right to have that opinion. But the fact that you based your votes on that fact that he "degrades" and "talks poorly" about women, shows me that you really haven't done any research on what he promises to do for this country. You forget about policy. This also shows me you're indecisive, self-centered and hypocritical. While you post on social media how offended you were by Mr. Trump's private interview that was leaked, you also put Broccoli by Big Baby D.R.A.M. into the top 5 on Billboard charts. Yea it's super catchy, but do you know the words?

Hey lil' mama would you like to be my sunshine?
N*gga touch my gang we gon' turn this shit to Columbine
Ice on my neck cost me 10 times 3
30,000 dollars for a n*gga to get flee

...

In the middle of the party bitch get off me
In the cut I'm rolling up my broccoli
Ya I know your baby mama fond of me
All she want to do is smoke that broccoli
Whispered in my ear she trying to leave with me
Said that I can get that pussy easily
Said that I can hit that shit so greasily
I'm a dirty dog I did it sleazily

Since when is joking about "turn this shit to Columbine" OK? I'm just saying, if you want to complain about something degrading to women and offensive to everybody, maybe you should look at the music you listen too. Oh, and while were on the topic, men aren't the only ones who talk dirty/degrading about the opposite sex, here's a list of women who have equally as explicit songs.

So you voted for Hillary, that's fine, but why? If you voted for Hillary strictly based on the fact that you want to see the first woman president, I'm at a loss for words. I am still trying to comprehend how someone being investigated for any sort of criminal activity by the FBI can possibly run for president? What I struggle to comprehend even more, is why people would still vote for her. After all the scandals, what makes it OK for her to be elected into office? If you're curious about what those scandals entail, you can do some post-election research in these archives.

"We're mad and going to let everyone know about it." That's the basis of the protests. Being upset about the loss is OK. Throwing a temper tantrum and burning the flag is going too far. You say you're not proud to be an American anymore, then move. There are plenty of people dying, yes, literally dying, to get into this country. Maybe you need to be reminded why America is so great. You were lucky enough to be born in such a stable country, with no war. America is the land of the free, because of the brave. The saddest part is that I've seen more posts and protests from high schoolers who can't even vote yet. Educate yourselves and educate others. Remind them why it's important to make America's government great again.

Dear Millennials,

I challenge you to break to stereotypes. I challenge you to use the resources that you use on a daily basis to do more research before you make up your minds. I challenge you to love everybody, regardless if they show you love back or not. Hate only builds hate.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
