It was a historic movement by faculty and students of Syracuse University and SUNY ESF. Together, hundreds gathered to march in the #SanctuaryCampus National Walkout. The group congregated to fight hate against all minority groups such as the LBGTQ community, the black community, the Latino community, Muslims, and others.
The protesters, with signs, marched from the Quad to University Place where they marched all the way towards Irving Avenue. The tailend of the group began chanting "We regret the President-Elect", a new term that only came to light in the previous weks since Trump's nomination.
Protesters were passionate about marching for what they believed in: social justice Among the liberal sea of protesters, there was a sole Trump supporter waking with his head down. When asked for his reaction and thought on the march he refused to comment.
