Despite your best intentions as well as your hopes, dreams, and wishes, life does not always go as planned. In fact, some people are thrown devastating curve balls that can have detrimental effects on their lives. When dealing with very serious issues, it is easy to feel embarrassed about your situation. Perhaps you are overly stressed, and you simply do not know how to handle it or what your options for relief or protection are. The reality is that you may need legal assistance in many serious situations. These are three major life-changing events that you should not be shy about, and you should seek the legal assistance you need without delay.

A Serious Injury

A serious injury can develop from a car accident, a workplace event, an accident at a neighbor’s house, medical malpractice and more. If your injury was caused by the negligent or intentional actions of someone else, you may be able to seek damages through a personal injury lawsuit. The court may award you financial compensation for your medical bills, lost wages during your recovery time, pain and suffering and more. Finding a lawyer like those at Snyder & Wenner, P.C. that specialize in personal injury This compensation can help you to avoid financial stress while you recuperate.

A Divorce

Divorce is an unfortunately common outcome for many marriages, and it can wreak havoc on your life in numerous ways. A lawyer may help you to fight for financial assets that you are entitled to and to ensure that debts are evenly divided. You can also get professional legal assistance structuring an equitable child custody and child support arrangement. Regardless of the stage of divorce that you are in, you should consult with an attorney about your rights. Even if the divorce is relatively amicable, you don’t want to risk things turning sour during or after the process that might put you in a bad financial or legal situation.

Bankruptcy

Financial issues can be embarrassing for some people to talk about, but there may come a time when you simply have no other option than to consider bankruptcy. Bankruptcy can provide you with financial relief from debts, but it also is a major decision that you should not take lightly. It is wise to consult with a bankruptcy attorney if you are thinking about moving forward with the plan to file for bankruptcy. They can handle just about everything you need. Filing paperwork, contacting debt collectors, payment plans, and much more can be handled by a lawyer much easier than you might be able to do it on your own.

Most people will be touched by at least one of these events over the course of their lives, and some may have to deal with two or three of them. You may have legal rights and options in each of these types of events, and a lawyer can help you to learn more about your rights and to explore the options available to you.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
