It’s Thursday night, bar night, and you’re headed downtown to get over how much you hate that you have had class all week. You pregame like you usually do, but someone convinces you to take shots and your night is looking like it could become quite the endeavor. You get to the bars and you eventually end up going home with someone.
The next morning, you will embark on your walk of shame. This trip is one of discomfort and some embarrassment. It can be avoided though, so you have to decide if it’s worth the effort the night before. Here are some pros and cons when you’re deciding whether it’s worth it to take that walk of shame in the morning.
Pro: The night has a chance to get better. It’s probably worth it. They may have a dog at their place and offer to make you breakfast. It has a lot of potential to be a great night.
Con: It could be a super awkward morning and walking back hungover sucks.
Pro: They may have a more comfortable bed than you.
Con: There’s a chance their bed is small or they live in a dorm.
Pro: There’s a chance you’ll get lucky.
Con: They probably won’t have an extra phone charger.
Pro: You may come out of this with a Netflix password.
Con: Walking sucks, and the sun isn’t your friend after a night of drinking.
Pro: You’ll get your day started earlier than you thought you would.
Con: You’ll get your day started earlier than you thought you would.
Pro: They will probably split the cost of the pizza you want to order.
Con: You’ll probably get some great judgmental glares.
Pro: You’re going to get some exercise today.
Con: That’s probably the only exercise you’ll get that way.
Pro (for the women): There's a chance at snagging a new T-shirt.
Con (for the men): There's a chance you’re losing that T-shirt.
When you weigh it out like that, there’s really no obvious side to things. Both arguments bring up some valid points and maintain some tempting ideas. At the end of the day, it’s up to you whether or not you’ll be taking that walk -- so weigh your options before you share that beeper home. Walk of shame -- walk of fame -- I guess that’s up to you to decide.
