Pros And Cons of Fraternity Rush Week

A female perspective

Pros And Cons of Fraternity Rush Week

It's no secret that fraternity rush is a lot different than sorority rush. Some guys may say girls have it easier, but usually it's the other way around.

Guys who rush get to choose which houses they visit. Fraternity men get to casually hang out with rushees instead of formally show them around and talk to them. And there's also food, a lot of food. They can go to lunch and dinner at one house, or just part of dinner at another.

Chapter women all around campus are confused by the process and see a few positives and negatives surrounding the event. Here's a list of the pros and cons of fraternity rush from a female perspective.

Pro: sorority rush is over. The start of fraternity rush means that the endless days of waking up early and being completely primped for 12 hours are over. No more nightmares about forgetting your name tag or tripping up the stairs.Sorority life is in full swing and you finally have time to realize how amazing all of the new members are.

Con: sorority rush is over.
As long as it seemed, you know a part of you will still miss recruitment. You didn't have to worry about class and got to hang out with your best friends all day. It was actually pretty fun dressing up and taking pictures every morning. Fraternity rush week means that it's time for reality to set in.

Pro: so many rush shirts.
You'll start to feel like a PR representative for the Inter Fraternity Council when your guy friends start giving you rush shirts. Not that you mind. This is the perfect way to build up your class wardrobe and get the word out about your favorite group of men. They're also usually pretty clever and have funny sayings on them, which will make your trek to class a little happier.

Con: class is in full swing. Fraternity rush week means that it's time for class to get serious. Syllabus week is over and assignments are creeping up faster than ever. You really will put those rush shirts to good use going to that 8:30 a.m. class every other day. You have to really crack down and get things done before it's time to meet all the new rushees.

Pro:  New rushees means new friends. You're just as excited as your boyfriend or guy friends are to meet the new rushees because you know they'll soon become your friends, too. The guys you know and love hand picked these rushees for a reason.

Con: All of your older guy friends are busy every night. When it's Tuesday night and your girls are trying to figure out what to do, you can't just call up your guy friends. They're busy talking to other guys and eating. Although it's a great time to spend quality time with your sisters, you'll miss your guys friends after a long week.

Overall, we as women just need to use fraternity rush week as a break from the hustle of college life and relax with our sisters in our rush shirts.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
