There’s a good and bad side to every kind of class. Here’s a short pros and cons list I’ve compiled for online classes:

Pros to Online Classes:

Brownie points:

You can get brownie points by meeting your professor in person, that is, if they care about their students. If not, then it’s just kind of awkward…

Moving at your own pace:

You could possibly finish the course early, or work the whole course out during Thanksgiving break, or, well, any other free time you have. If you like to keep on top of your class work, then this would work out for you if you trick yourself into thinking every deadline is a month in advance.

Not leaving your bed:

This doesn’t have to be explained. Who wants to get out of bed?

It's usually easier:

Online classes could be easier, unless you’re not good at teaching yourself concepts and keeping yourself accountable for your deadlines and classwork.

Cons to Online Classes:

It's harder to talk to the professor:

Since you don’t have a physical class to go to and you have a lot of questions, you may end up emailing them often and this could result in you harassing your professor to the point of them hating you.

Forgetting work:

You might forget to turn in your work since you don’t have the advantage of having classmates to talk to and meet up with after or before class. If you must schedule your own tests you might forget to do them if you schedule them as you go or if you preschedule them all but on different days and times.

Finishing the course late:

If you’re already forgetting your classwork, then you might end up not even finishing the course and ending with a bad grade. If this happens then make sure to drop that class like a hot potato.

I hope this small pros and cons list helped you and make sure to keep your eye out for Spring/Fall Semesters: Physical Classes!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
