Being in college is weird. You're not fully an adult but you're definitely not a kid anymore. You have to make all sorts of decisions but you also have some autonomy. So here are some pros and cons to being an adult.
Pro: No One Tells You What To Do.
You have the ability to eat what you want and go where you want. You can sleep until noon or skip class because there isn't a parent standing by watching your every move.
Con: No One Tells You What To Do.
The downside of this is you may choose to sleep in too often or buy too much snack food and not enough real food.
Pro: You Can Buy Whatever Groceries You Want.
You can buy your favorite food and have it for dinner every night. Or you can order pizza or Chinese food if you feel like it.
Con: You Can Buy Whatever Groceries You Want.
This means you might not live the healthiest lifestyle and eating your favorite food for every dinner may result in a vitamin deficiency.
Pro: You Make Your Own Schedule.
You get to plan when you take a road trip, when you do your homework and when you get to have fun with friends.
Con: You Make Your Own Schedule.
You may not get as much homework done as you'd like because you spend too much time on the other stuff. My mom stopped checking up on my homework a while ago, but that's scary because there is something about college that makes me think I can do less homework...
Pro: It's Fun!
All of the pros I listed above go to show how fun it is to be an adult. We can do what we want and drive where we want and don't have to report back to anyone about our whereabouts or eating habits. Adulting can be awesome!
Con: It Is Not Fun!
You don't have the same support system you used to as a kid, or even as a high school student. This is especially true if you've moved far away from home. Adulting can be hard.
So there you go. Clearly I'm a confused college student, and you probably shouldn't take life advice from me.
