Pros And Cons Of Being A College Athlete

I honestly don't have a clue what it is like to be in school and not be an athlete. Being a college athlete is very rewarding and definitely worth it, but it is also very demanding and stressful. Here are some pros and cons of being a college athlete.

Pro: You get recognized.

You get put on a higher pedestal in your hometown and at your school. Everyone knows that you're a college athlete.

Con: You have absolutely no social life.

You have no time to socialize with people outside of your team. The only time you will see anyone besides your team is during class.

Pro: Scholarship money

My scholarship money is the only way that I am able to attend college.

Con: Scholarship= More rules

You have a lot more rules to follow, and you have to follow those rules in order to keep your scholarship.

Pro: Free stuff

You get free gear because of the sport you play.

Con: It is a constant pain literally and figuratively

Getting out of bed might be hard for the normal student, but try getting out of bed at 5:30 in the morning when you're sore for the day before... and still knowing that when 6 am rolls around you're going to be dying at workouts once again.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
