If you've ever had a sibling in your household, you might sometimes daydream what life without brothers and sisters would be like. Is it any better? Less noisy? More lonely? The answer is, all of the above. Some kids prefer to grow up by themselves, while others might completely despise going solo. Here is how most people who have zero siblings tend to feel - pro and con style.
Pro: You become slightly (or almost completely) spoiled.
In some cases, parents tend to do everything for their only child. For example, I've never done dishes. Nor have I ever learned to do laundry until I went off to college. Also, if you're ever on a shopping spree with your parents, you can almost guarantee they will be willing to purchase any items you desire.
Con: Loneliness tends to take it's toll.
My whole childhood consists of me throwing the football to myself and doing a solo touchdown dance in my backyard.
Pro: A room to yourself, always.
If you want to be the popstar of your own room and high five your stuffed animal audience, go for it! You have no one there to stop you (or make fun of you).
Con: You begin to wonder what it would be like.
I had a sibling, I could have a car buddy or someone to play catch with. Maybe even someone to be there for me when I'm upset.
Pro: Endless time to yourself.
Treat yourself! Every day is me day as an only child.
Con: You don't get that brother or sister bond.
Having a special sibling relationship is always something an only child hopes they could have.
Pro: You probably have less bruises.
At least you can avoid sibling fights/pranks at all costs.
Con: You don't have somebody to hand down their experience (or their cloths) to you.
No hand-me-downs for this child, or advice on relationships, and nobody to teach me how to drive.
Con: Boredom is common.
Some days you look for any sign of life, or any idea for something interesting to do.
