Throughout college, we always knew our graduation would be in May 2016. We filled in the date on internship applications and school forms. We knew it was coming, but we did not really plan for it.
Now, it is May 2016 and there are two things I know for sure. One, walking away from this campus is absolutely terrifying. And, two, walking away from this campus with my lifelong friends will make it a little easier.
It finally hit me the other day that, after this, we will all be spread out across the state. But, I know that won't change much between us, and here's why:
1. I promise to keep the GroupMe going.
Honestly, nothing can make you laugh like a good group chat conversation.
2. I promise to stay up-to-date with your real-life jobs.
I (still) do not really understand accounting, but I will try my best to keep up.
3. And, I promise to be the one you celebrate your accomplishments with.
It may not be a Wednesday-night celebration like we do now, but I promise we will celebrate.
4. I promise to visit whenever it is possible.
And it'll be like nothing ever changed.
5. I promise to be your travel buddy.
Who doesn't like a good road trip?
6. I promise to overstay my welcome at your future apartment.
"Hello. Yeah, I'm still here."
7. I promise to tell you everything as soon as it happens.
You will never be in the dark about anything, even the things you probably don't want to know.
8. I promise to always be there for you.
Need me to drive two hours to eat ice cream and lay on the couch? Deal.
9. I promise to keep you young.
Whenever we are together, we will do it college style.
10. I promise to always be your best friend.
You're stuck with me, whether you like it or not.
