Being a procrastinator is a life no one chooses because it chooses you. Do I want to stay up early into the morning to make sure something is perfect because I waited until the night before to start it? No, but I do. There’s no helping it. Sometimes I look at a project weeks before the due date and nothing about it seems right. I try and try to accomplish my set goal on a scheduled timeline but the majority of the time, my efforts fall short. So instead, I wait for the timing to feel right and for the pieces of the project to fall into place naturally. The truth behind my procrastination is that forcing my work to turn out a certain way doesn’t accomplish anything. If at the time I feel like I don’t have the skills or the patience to achieve my goal then the reality is that I won’t be able to. Why sell myself short on a half-baked outcome? It’s true that the results of procrastination aren’t pretty, but most of the time they’re my best.
So here’s to those who procrastinate! I give you a closer look at the process behind it.
