School has finally started, creating another year of constant stress, anxiety and worry about classes. Everyone naturally wants to do well but most do not attempt to create the change that they need to, to fix the small things that build stress.
One of the first things I started to understand was never, ever procrastinate. If you knew me personally, anyone would tell you I wait until the last minute to do anything from eating, sleeping to anything I have to get done. Although, I am beginning to realize that it barely ever ends up in your favor. Things can always go wrong last minute and you will really never know when life will hit you.
I recently saw the quote, “Procrastination is the thief of time,” and it made me think in awe about how accurate that quote was written. The idea of procrastination is to spend more time putting it off than completing what is actually the necessity. It seems ideal for someone to think that they can go against time but the opposite of that is reality. Reality becomes the opposite of expectations, creating those obstacles and complications that will get in the way. When you procrastinate, it ends up being more time that you waste, not being aware of other things that may get in the way in the future.
The task at hand will always be waiting for you to complete, however, by the time you get towards the deadline, you will have less time to do it. By having that mindset, it restricts you from being completely free of yourself to do whatever it is that you want to do. There’s always that pending thought in your mind and the only way to get rid of it is to actually put your mind to completing it.
The quote also reminds me of another famous quote that states that “life is short”. Anything could do wrong and you will never live a day over the same exact way ever again. Each day is different, introducing new things that change your daily routine whether it’s simple things like getting a new job and changing your diet to having big things happen like moving to another country or having someone pass away in your life. As said, life is short. Most definitely too short to waste time when you never know what can happen tomorrow.
By changing merely this single aspect in your life can make a huge difference in the way you live. Begin to start early and start checking things off your list one by one. It may not seem such now, but it definitely has a huge impact on a long-term basis. Why not live it easier than having to create extra stress?
