I own an agenda and often write my daily tasks inside along with a little motivation sticker to help me get through the day (this week is a panda holding a sign saying "you can do it.") However, it varies on whether these tasks actually get accomplished. I'm a person with a ton of motivation but also an incredibly short attention span.
For instance today I glanced at my agenda and saw that I have to work on a group project, study for an upcoming exam, go to work, shop for couple Christmas things, and, of course, write this article. That's a lot in one day, and I'm just beginning to start on one of them. I do have free time to get them done, but whenever I have time to do them I distract myself.
I know I'm not the only one with these struggles, I'm pretty sure procrastination is the most common plague out there. But I'm not sure how to combat it. I've heard of bullet journals and tried one out, but my OCD would freak out if a line wasn't completely straight so that didn't work. I've made checklists, reminders, alarms, wrote tasks on my whiteboard, etc. But, for some reason, I can always find a way of getting out of doing things.
I know I'm not a lazy person, I don't think anyone ever gets their work done in one sitting without getting distracted. But, I'm always open to suggestions on how to stay focused. This semester was a lot harder than I expected and even though I know it's almost over, it's been difficult to stay on top of things. I think I'll start setting designated break times so that I can do work for a half hour, take a ten-minute break and so on.
