As I continue to pound away, I can feel the energy in me slipping away. The motivation for me to stay focused on anything that I set my mind to only seems to last for so long and the more I try to pack into one day, the more I tend to wind up leaving for tomorrow, or even later. And everything around me seems much more enticing. Welcome to my world of procrastination.
If you're like me, then maybe you know that overwhelming feeling that comes with trying to make up for your lack of work in prior days by cramming. Maybe you got distracted on small tasks or activities you simply do for your own pleasure. Or perhaps, you thought your workload could be completed in a shorter timespan. In any case, you never get around to working on the big, important projects that make our collegiate memories (both inside and outside the classroom).
But in small doses, distractions are actually a crucial part of success. Clearing your mind increases the overall quality of your work. For example, take a break after you finish drafting that big essay. When you return to edit it, you tend to be more objective, which should lead to a better final copy. With that said, coming up next is one of these distractions. Feel free to stay tuned (but not too long).
