Procrastination is a universal struggle amongst college students. It's all too easy to become distracted by social media and Netflix nowadays, which typically lessens motivation to study and do homework. As an avid fan of the NBC show, "Parks & Recreation," I find that the ultimate non-procrastinator Leslie Knope's reactions are actually relatable to a college student's procrastination.
1. When you have so much work to do and you don't even know where to begin.
Prioritizing all of the tasks that you need to accomplish can become a task in of itself.
2. To make matters worse, some of the concepts can initially be difficult to grasp.
Z-scores? I want to be catching some z's, not computing z-scores!
3. When somebody asks you how studying is going.
Can't you see that I'm busy binge-watching "Parks & Recreation" on Netflix instead of studying?
4. You try to convince yourself that this is just a dream and you actually don't have any studying or homework to do.
5. But then you remember that this is real life and your paper won't write itself...
6. ...And an inevitable mental breakdown follows.
7. After the mental breakdown, you seek moral support from your friends.
8. Once you finally stop procrastinating and actually accomplish something, you have a valid excuse to reward yourself with food and not feel guilty about it.
9. Then you remember that you only finished one assignment and still have a lot more to get done.
10. But when you finally finish all of your homework, it's one of the best feelings in the world.
