Probiotic Bagels

When I was told you could make bagels out of Greek yogurt, there was no stopping me.

A few months ago, my friend gave me a recipe for Weight Watchers bagels. Of course, I changed it up a little bit and added my all-time favorite, Everything Bagel. If my stomach is ever upset, the probiotic cultures in Greek yogurt even me out. Not only that, but they're really good!

4 Servings // Prep Time: 15 minutes // Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons Everything Bagel

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and yogurt in a medium bowl.
  2. Split batter into four equal parts.
  3. Roll parts into "sausages" and then lock them together into tire shapes by rubbing the ends together with fingers.
  4. Bake at 350℉ for 23 minutes.
  5. Whisk egg in small bowl. Stir in Everything Bagel.
  6. Take bagels out of oven. Egg wash tops of bagels.
  7. Bake at 500℉ for 2 minutes.
  8. Let cool and serve.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
