Pro-Life or Pro-Choice

Which are you?

As my fellow peers march at D.C. this weekend for the unborn I wish them the best of luck but as well wishing those who believe differently than my peers the same luck. I pray for those who will march, fight for either side, the politicians who will decide what will become of the issue, the citizens who live in the areas where such marches will take place, and the brave men as well women who will defend the public's safety. This article is not me stating what I believe or asking my readers to respond, I am asking you to simply think before you act. America is divided into those who are pro-choice or are pro-life but not unified under the idea that we are human and we all have different beliefs. Will you question humanity?

Today, sitting in my college's coffee shop I was asked the simple question of "Are you Pro-life or are you Pro-Choice?" To answer that question I am human. I recognize that I may differ in my beliefs but I respect others' beliefs to not "shove it down their throats", I recognize others as my fellow humans not by what they believe. We are all entitled to what we believe, we are given that liberty as well as the liberty to respect other's beliefs. Though many will theorize that I am one or the other but I am simply just a human being and hopes for the best of America. Will you listen?

As you critique others for their beliefs and they do the same, are you being the best person you can be? Think about that. To protestors and marchers, do you recognize the men and women you leave to pick up your mess or their feelings? Think about them. To the Pro-Life, have you been in those women's shoes who go to abortion clinics though they are persecuted for that action? They are afraid and do not deserve the emotion they are given or reasoning that they should not do such action. You likely have not been where they are. Think about it as if you had been in their shoes. To the Pro-Choice, do you recognize how disgusting some of your signs appear or wardrobe? Do you not see that instead of being peaceful and respectful like those who protested before you, you are in the wrong? That you leave your waste for the men and women who are entrusted to protect your freedom yet you also treat them as if they were nothing? Think like Martin Luther Jr. To our politicians, you are all doing your best and all I have to say to you is think not just with your heart but with your mind. Remember that what you do will affect all women in America so to think wisely. Stay wise. To president Donald J. Trump, you are in a tough position that I would not wish upon anyone. Think smart. To everyone as a whole, are we not human and why do those define us in categories?

My closing remark to this article as a whole is that I, like you, am human. I am not defined by either Pro-Life or Pro-Choice but by being a human who believes what they believe. A human who will not let others dictate to me that my beliefs are wrong nor will I do the same to others. To my readers, I hope you think about both sides not in black and white but in gray. Because there is more to the idea than what we see, we must think in every possible way about our beliefs but not forgetting that everyone of is a human who is given the right to what they believe and should not be attacked for our beliefs.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
